Kula Applied Research Institute

Derived from Sanskrit, Kula loosely refers to "part of a village" and conveys a deep sense of belonging and trust. At the heart of Kula, lies the vision of a paradigm where humanity belongs and thrives in harmony with the natural world. Through systems research, program design, and monitoring and evaluation support, we hold space to catalyze nature-based solutions, and document the toolkits and case studies that make these replicable across bioregions.

It is the home of Kula Labs, a regenerative design laboratory. Kula Labs engages in its work through a growing awareness of patterns and narratives which helps to determine sequencing of our bioregional work. Kula Labs, itself, is a pattern.
